Friends of Durango Seniors
Get to
know us
Friends of Durango Seniors (FDS) is a (soon to formed) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting, strengthening, and expanding services for older adults and their families in Durango and La Plata County. We were founded to ensure that seniors in our community have access to the resources, programs, and connections they need to thrive.
Working in partnership with the Durango Senior Center and other community organizations, FDS raises funds, builds partnerships, and mobilizes volunteers to enhance programs, improve facilities, and expand opportunities for seniors.
What We Do
Fundraising & Grants – Securing resources to sustain and grow vital programs for seniors.
Community Partnerships – Collaborating with local nonprofits, government agencies, and businesses to meet the needs of older adults.
Membership Program – Offering community members a simple way to support our mission through a $10 annual membership.
Capacity Building – Providing funding and subawards to partner organizations that deliver senior-focused services.
Why It Matters
Seniors are the heart of our community. By supporting Friends of Durango Seniors, you help provide access to meals, social activities, health and wellness programs, transportation, and the sense of belonging every person deserves.
